I first wrote a large chunk of Dark One’s Bride way back in November of 2013, not long after Dark One’s Mistress was originally published. Back then, it was the second of a duology. And, technically, complete. But it felt rushed, especially the second half which became Dark One’s Wife. Whilst struggling on with a… Continue reading When in Doubt, Send in the Assassins!
Still with Dark One’s Bride, my dear Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday Folk. I’ve managed to reach chapter three since last week. The slow going has, in part, been due to an injury last weekend involving a pony’s head and my index finger. It’s not broken, but it’s not happy with long periods of typing.
This piece picks up directly after last week’s with Clara being a little apprehensive of leaving the carriage…
Still with Dark One’s Bride, my dear Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday Folk. I’d hoped to further along by now, but things happened, so I’ve only just reached the end of chapter two. Which would be fine, if it wasn’t for the fact that most of it was written previously… Grr.

New month, new book. Wow, after such a long time with In Pain and Blood, too.

I’ve been thinking over this for perhaps as long as Dark One’s Mistress was first conceived. I may have even discussed it once before, but the more I look at it, the more I wonder… Did I miscategorise it? Way back in 2012, when I’d just finished the first draft, New Adult was a strange… Continue reading Is it Really Adult or… NA-h?
Otherwise known as “what’s been happening over here”. Well, there are always the multiple things that have nothing to do with writing. Notably, there’ve been some flooding and junk around here, and I’ve spent the first time in a long time 100% alone in the house. Oh! And it’s my daughter’s birthday tomorrow… Or rather… Continue reading Good news… for once
Seriously, 2015 what you’re doing to me isn’t good enough? You got to go after our poor border collie and let him get pancreatitis. Well, jokes on you. We caught it in time, he’s better and we know how to manage it. So, thppt!Anyway, in light of the past months, I’m being self-indulgent with my… Continue reading Taking a Dark Turn
