Yup, we’re still continuing with the wip To Poison a Prince for snippets whilst I write a whole other novella.
For those of you catching up… Darshan and Hamish are a pair of thirty-something princes from two vastly different lands who are now travelling through the ginormous Udynea Empire that Darshan is from on their way to the capital.
This one is carrying on from last week and ended with Darshan mentioning how the soirée invite from his half-sister has the phrase “dying to meet him”.
There was no mention of his husband by name, although she had to know it. What do you have planned, now? Darshan was certain this soirée was more a case of her wanting his husband in a convenient position to ascertain Hamish’s weaknesses, if not see the man dead. Quite a few means to that end.
How he hated throwing Hamish into the deep end with this blasted soirée, but if they managed his half-sister well enough, then there was little else the Crystal Court could throw at them that they wouldn’t be able to handle together.
Darshan tapped a forefinger on the edge of the parchment. He would need to keep a close eye on his husband during their stay. That could be irksome and possibly signal an opening to those who wanted their vris Mhanek dead. Perhaps he could play off the whole newly-wedded bliss angle.
It was largely true; they’d only been married for a little over two months.
Hamish is finally free to live with the man who won his heart.
If only someone didn’t keep trying to ruin his happily-ever-after.
